Bergenfield Native Advances to U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer

FALLON, Nev. - A 2001 Bergenfield High School graduate and Bergenfield, New Jersey, native advances to U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer serving with Navy Munitions Command Pacific CONUS West Division, Detachment Fallon, Nevada.

John A. Pampaloni, serving for 17 years, is an aviation ordnanceman technician, responsible for the receipt, stowage, breakout, handling, testing and assembly/disassembly of conventional ordnance in support of air wing operations.

When receiving this honor, Pampaloni, said, "It's very humbling because many do not get to this point in their career. I did not get here because of myself, my Sailors I lead and their hard work allowed me to receive the honor."

NMC DET Fallon provides Integrated Tactical Air Warfare Training support to carrier air wing detachments, strike fighter advanced readiness program detachments, special warfare groups and resident commands.

Serving in the Navy has made Pampaloni a better overall person both professionally and personally.

"The Navy has allowed me to become a better person and taught me to be grateful for what I have," he said. "I met my wife Sarah and now have two beautiful children. Lastly, the various skills I have learned can never be replaced."

Pampaloni, is the son of John and Cindy Pampaloni, of Bergenfield, New Jersey.
