MILLINGTON, Tenn. - A Fountain, Colorado, native serves as a Navy Talent Scout with Navy Recruiting Station Daly assigned to Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Golden Gate located in Mountain View, California.
Petty Officer 1st Class SanJuan JanRainier, a 2002 Philippines High School graduate, joined the Navy nine years ago. Additionally, JanRainier is a 2007 graduate of the University of Santo Tomas.
"I joined the Navy to serve and start my own military legacy to my family," said JanRainier.
Skills and values learned in the Navy are similar to those found in Fountain.
“During my younger years, I worked with all types of people," said JanRainier. "It taught me fairness, a great work ethic, and competitiveness. These traits helped me succeed in the Navy.”
Today, JanRainier serves as a Navy Talent Scout and construction electrician.
A Navy Talent Scout uses various recruiting methods to identify qualified applicants and create interest in joining the Navy.
A construction electrician builds, maintains and operates power production facilities and electrical distribution systems for Naval installations.
“What I like best about my job is building bridges with other nations," said JanRainier. "I take great pride being an ambassador on behalf of the Navy."

“Our Naval force influenced international waters and strengthened our ties between U.S. and allies resulting in a stronger national defense," said JanRainier.
JanRainier has many opportunities to achieve accomplishments during military service.
"I am most proud being selected as Sea/Shore Junior Sailor of the Year for Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Europe Africa Southwest Asia," said JanRainier. "I am also proud to help my sailors advance and achieve their goals."
As JanRainier and other sailors continue to perform missions, they take pride in serving their country in the United States Navy.
"Serving the U.S. Navy is a true testament of dedication and patriotism to me," added JanRainier. "It showcased my ability and competence as a role model for my family, superiors, peers and subordinates."
