Dimango joined the Navy four years ago. Today, Dimango serves as a retail services specialist.

“My father, who retired from the Army, inspired me to join,” said Dimango.

According to Navy officials, Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story is the country’s premier installation for housing and training the nation’s expeditionary forces. It is one command with two properties: Joint Expeditionary Base Fort Story and JEB Little Creek. The Joint Expeditionary Base is comprised of the former Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek and the Army Post of Fort Story. Fort Story witnessed the humble beginnings of the nation at the 1607 first landing site. Little Creek began as a dynamic training ground for World War II amphibious forces.

With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.

Dimango serves a Navy that operates far forward, around the world and around the clock, promoting the nation's prosperity and security.

"We will earn and reinforce the trust and confidence of the American people every day," said Adm. Lisa Franchetti, chief of naval operations. "Together we will deliver the Navy the nation needs."

Dimango has many opportunities to achieve accomplishments during military service.

“I'm proud of how far I've come in my naval career,” said Dimango. “I'm especially proud of my time serving aboard the USS Whidbey Island from 2020 to 2022.”

Dimango can take pride in serving America through military service.

“Being able to serve in the Navy has been an absolute honor,” said Dimango. “I've gained financial security and met my husband. We've started a wonderful family with our daughter, who's 18-months old.”

Dimango is grateful to others for helping make a Navy career possible.

“I want to send a special shoutout to my husband, HT2 (hull technician second-class) Robert Domingo, who is currently serving aboard a deployed aircraft carrier, the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower,” added Dimango. “He's one of the most resilient and motivated people that I've ever met. He inspires me to stay focused and motivated.”
