MILLINGTON, Tenn. — Petty Officer 2nd Class Madison Pencek, a native of Bellows Falls, Vermont, serving in the United States Navy wishes the New England Patriots good luck during the 2026 Super Bowl.

“If you’re from New England, and New England is playing, you cheer for New England,” Pencek said.

Pencek, a 2020 Bellows Falls Union High School graduate, joined the Navy six years ago. Today, Pencek serves as an aviation structural mechanic (safety equipment) with Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 106, located in Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia.

This year, the Navy is commemorating its contribution to the nation’s defense as the United States celebrates 250 years of independence.

According to Navy officials, for more than 250 years, the Navy has sailed the globe defending freedom and protecting prosperity.

With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.

As Pencek and other sailors continue to train and perform missions, they take pride in serving their country in the U.S. Navy.

“Serving in the Navy was the greatest choice I’ve ever made,” Pencek added. “I’m making a name for myself and making the family proud in the process.”
