MILLINGTON, Tenn. – Petty Officer 1st Class Jeremiah Carnes, a native of Dinwiddie, Virginia, serving in the United States Navy, wishes the New England Patriots good luck in the 2026 Super Bowl.
“I’m rooting for the New England Patriots because they will be playing the 49ers next Super Bowl,” Carnes said. “Also, the uniforms remind me of my high school color theme, ‘Navy nation! Let’s ride!’ Let’s go Patriots!”
Carnes, a 2006 Dinwiddie High School graduate, joined the Navy 17 years ago. Today, Carnes serves as a builder at Navy Talent Acquisition Group Carolina.
This year, the Navy is commemorating its contribution to the nation’s defense as the United States celebrates 250 years of independence.
According to Navy officials, for more than 250 years, the Navy has sailed the globe defending freedom and protecting prosperity.
With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.
As Carnes and other sailors continue to train and perform missions, they take pride in serving their country in the U.S. Navy.
“Serving in the Navy, for me, means honor and contribution toward multi-family legacies and commitment to my country,” Carnes added.
