MILLINGTON, Tenn. – U.S. Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Jeremy Parr, from Yona, Guam, recently was selected as 2025 Senior Sailor of the Year for 3rd Medical Battalion while serving in support of the Marine air-ground task force (MAGTF) in Japan.
Senior Sailor of the Year is an award given to an enlisted sailor who demonstrates sustained superior performance, leadership and professionalism.
“I am truly humbled by this honor, which is a testament to the constant hard work of our command and its priorities towards sailor development and warfighting readiness,” said Parr. “This recognition would not be possible without the invaluable guidance from my mentors and the unwavering support of my wife, Bree. I am truly grateful for both.”
Parr graduated from Guam High School in 2008.
Parr joined the Navy 13 years ago. Today, Parr serves as a hospital corpsman at 3rd Medical Battalion, under the 3rd Marine Logistics Group.
The mission of 3rd Marine Logistics Group is to provide direct and general health service support to III Marine Expeditionary Force in Okinawa, Japan, in order to sustain the combat effort across the full spectrum of MAGTF operations.
This year, the Navy is commemorating its contribution to the nation’s defense as the United States celebrates 250 years of independence.
According to Navy officials, for more than 250 years, the Navy has sailed the globe defending freedom and protecting prosperity.
With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.
As Parr and other sailors continue to perform missions, they take pride in serving their country in the U.S. Navy and protecting the American way of life.
