Aiken Native Named Contracting Officer Representative of the Year at Naval Information Warfare Center

NORFOLK, Va. - Justin Firestone, a native of Aiken, South Carolina, was named Contracting Officer Representative (COR) of the Year at Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic in Norfolk, Virginia.

Firestone, a University of South Carolina graduate and Old Dominion University graduate, supports the Fleet C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, & Intelligence Readiness) Division strategy. He led and coordinated the initiation of two large Seaport-E contracts totaling more than $90 million. Firestone’s contributions to this contracting strategy will allow for rapid response to emergent fleet support needs.

Of winning this award, Firestone said, "It shows that hard work does not go unnoticed, and leadership appreciates the work being accomplished.”

NIWC Atlantic provides systems engineering and acquisition to deliver information warfare capabilities to the naval, joint and national warfighter through the acquisition, development, integration, production, test, deployment, and sustainment of interoperable C4ISR, cyber and information technology capabilities.
