COMLCSRON 2 Sailor in the Spotlight: Ceejay Taylor

The Littoral Combat Ship Squadron (COMLCSRON) Two Sailor in the Spotlight for the month of August is Operations Specialist (OS) Petty Officer 2nd Class Ceejay Taylor.

As an OS, the Quincy, Ill. native is responsible for maintaining an arduous work-up and material readiness schedule for USS Billings (LCS 15). Taylor's title is Assistant Mission Liaison Officer (AMLO) in for Operations Department. As AMLO, Taylor is responsible for coordinating with several entities inside and outside of LCSRON2 to plan training, maintenance and operational schedules for USS Billings. He works hand-in-hand with the Training Liaison Officer (TLO) ensuring training schedule has a clear path to, successfully accomplish crew’s certification and eventual condition-based deployment.

OS2 Taylor’s hard work is not limited to just being a subject matter expert but he is one of COMLCSRON TWO’s most committed Assistant Command Fitness Leaders. Taylor is dedicated to helping other Sailors in improving their fitness status for health purposes, which in return helps the Navy’s retention efforts. OS2 also takes great pride in physical security. On top of being one of Naval Station Mayport’s Auxiliary Security Force (ASF) members, he is an active Anti-Terrorism Training Team (ATTT) member for LCSRON2. Assisting in all of the training and certifications for each LCS crew on the east coast.

“OS2 Taylor is the anchor within N3 Department with his dependable and hardworking attitude. He sets a high standard for his peers and shows a strong commitment to help our team. He is a high-caliber Sailor and an asset to LCSRON2,” says his Department supervisor.

Taylor’s favorite part about being an OS in the LCS community is, “being a part of the foundation for a program (LCS) unlike any other.”
