ST. LUCIA, West Indies - Petty Officer 1st Class Raymond D. Weeks, Jr., a native of Manning, South Carolina, is a Navy hospital corpsman serving aboard USNS Comfort (T-AH-20), a large, mobile floating medical facility that provides assistance to victims of natural disasters while also providing international humanitarian relief.

Weeks is the Directorate Leading Petty Officer for Clinical Support Services responsible for the manning of sailors and treatment of patients in pharmacy, laboratory, radiology and physical therapy services.

This deployment is Weeks' second consecutive mission to South and Central America in support of U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM).

"I wouldn’t be able to do the things that I do without the love and support of my family," Weeks said. "Thank you to my mom, my dad, my brother and sister and most importantly, my wife and children."

Weeks has served in the Navy for 16 years and is a 2003 Manning High School graduate. His mother teaches at a Head Start Program in Manning, South Carolina.
