Alexandria Native Receives Meritorious Service Medal for End of Tour Award

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Navy Capt. Phil Ventura, a native of Alexandria, Virginia, recently received the Meritorious Service Medal for his end of tour award serving as the commanding officer for Navy Reserve Navy Region Southeast Regional Operations Center (CNRSE ROC), Jacksonville, Florida, from Dec. 2017 to Nov. 2019.

Ventura, a 1994 U.S. Naval Academy graduate, was recently promoted to Captain in Oct. 2019 and will be transferring to NR Carrier Strike Group Four (CSG4). 

During his tour at CNRSE ROC, he was instrumental in fostering Active-Reserve integration; working alongside Military, Civilian, and Contractor NRSE staff to support exercises Citadel Shield, Solid Curtain, Citadel Gale, Hurrex and region response to Hurricane Dorian, as well as expanding Reserve support by filling additional key positions such as BWC and Knowledge Managers. 

CNRSE ROC appreciates his positive attitude and motivation he exemplified while serving as commanding officer, and wishes him the best of success in his new role at CSG4.

CNRSE ROC serves as the single responsible office, advocate, and point of contact for Navy installations; to provide consistent, effective, and efficient shore installation services and support to sustain and improve current and future fleet readiness and mission execution.
