NORFOLK, Va. – Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 1st Class (NAC/AW) Dallas Cook, a Heath, Ohio native, participated in a reenlistment ceremony, July 7, which highlighted not only his stellar work performance, but also his dedication and commitment to serving in the United States Navy.
Rear Adm. Charles W. “Chip” Rock, Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic (CNRMA) was the re-enlisting officer for the event.
“I have comfort in knowing that I can serve 20 years in the Navy and retire from the military having had a great career,” Cook said of the recent opportunity. Cook has currently served 16 years in the Navy and is the Current/Future Ops Leading Petty Officer for CNRMA. For his next assignment, Cook is slated to relocate to Atsugi, Japan at Naval Air Facility Atsugi.
Re-enlistments are a significant time-honored tradition that celebrate service members’ renewed commitment to uniformed military service. During the ceremony, the service member swears to support, defend and bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of the United Sates, and wear the cloth of the nation with honor, courage and commitment.
Cook is a 2004 graduate of Heath High School. His father, Dave Cook, who served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, and mother, Toni Cook, both Heath natives, were present during the ceremony to witness the momentous occasion.
CNRMA is the regional coordinator for all shore-based naval personnel and shore activities in the Mid-Atlantic region, which encompasses 20 states, 14 installations and 50 Naval Operational Support Centers.
As the naval shore installation management headquarters, CNRMA provides coordination of base operating support functions for operating forces throughout the region in support of the fleet, fighter and family.
