By Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Bryan Niegel, Navy Office of Community Outreach

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - A Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania, native was named Naval Sea Logistics Center (NAVSEALOGCEN) Cyber Person of the Year for outstanding professionalism, personal initiative and loyal devotion to duty.

Mr. Tyler S. Boyer, a 2006 Northern Lebanon School District graduate, serves as the lead developer on the eForms team responsible for maintaining existing web applications, implementing new requirements and providing any type of IT related support to the end users of eForms.

"It was very humbling when I learned that I had been chosen for the IT/Cyber Person of the Year award,” said Boyer. “I cannot say enough on how privileged I feel to have been chosen as I know there had to be strong competition with all the talent at NSLC. It's a huge honor to be recognized with this award and I really cannot put into words what it means to me.”

As lead developer, Boyer managed new initiatives on submarine electronic Departure From Specifications and Ship Alterations modules that reduced administrative burden and improved visibility of non-conforming specifications for over 13,000 end users. At the same time, he supported several existing, critical eForms modules, including electronic Shafts, electronic Trouble Reports , and electronic Baseline Availability Work Package Change Management Process.

“I love coming to work every day and truly enjoying what I do," said Boyer. "I also love supporting our men and women serving this great country and I take pride in helping make a small impact in their huge impact. Most importantly, the thing I love most about my job is the team I work on, the eForms team. Without any of them, I would not have the opportunities to succeed. I do not think you can find a better team and it is great to come to work every day and enjoy the people you work with."
