Reason for joining Navy: “I joined the military to do something that is bigger than myself,” said Nelson. “I wanted to help and make a difference.”
Favorite part of job: “My favorite part of the job is being able to communicate to all different people,” said Nelson. “Working with supplies, you interact with different rates and ranks.”
Hometown mentor: “I would consider my youth church leader, Marie Leafblad, as a mentor,” said Nelson. “She is always there to help and guide anyone that needs it.”
Memories of hometown: “I miss being with my family on a regular basis,” said Nelson. “I also miss sunsets where the view isn’t restricted by buildings.”
Navy Week: “I am looking forward to going back home, seeing my family but also doing good in the community,” said Nelson.
