MILLINGTON, Tenn. – Christopher Leonard, a resident of Williamsburg, Virginia, was recently named Naval Medical Readiness Logistics Command’s (NMRLC) Manager of the Month for the Quarter 1 2024.

"Being selected as Manager of the Quarter has a huge impact on how I conduct day-to-day business in the Quality Assurance (QA) Division," said Leonard. "It drives me to continue improving as both a quality assurance specialist and a manager. The more I improve in my current role, the more I can help my staff improve in their roles. This ensures a team effort in getting the correct and needed material deployed to support missions."

Leonard has served the Navy as a sailor, contractor and now as a government civilian.

"I entered the Navy in 1994 and my first duty station was Paris Island, South Carolina," said Leonard. "After the Navy, I repaired and installed radiation therapy machines used for cancer treatment until 2014 when I started at Navy Expeditionary Medical Support Command as a contractor in the biomed shop. I moved to government service in 2018 working in the Biomed QA Division."

Leonard plays an integral role in contributing to a Navy that operates far forward, around the world and around the clock, promoting the nation's prosperity and security.

"I ensure that all builds are correct and that we provide the best possible product to the warfighters to ensure a successful mission," said Leonard.

NMRLC manages the warehouse and production facility that procures, produces, manages, sustains, prepositions, and deploys rapidly deployable Expeditionary Medical (EXMED) Platforms in support of operational plans, exercise support, and real-world operations.

NMRLC is at the heart of Navy Medicine’s enterprise-wide foundational change, designing and delivering agile and integrated capabilities to the Fleet and Fleet Marine Forces in the Distributed Maritime Operations. These unique capabilities will provide medical assets to Combatant Commanders in theatres around the world.

Today, Leonard enjoys having the opportunity to continue serving the nation.

"I have supported many different missions while being here at NMRLC," added Leonard. "I would say what made me successful at previous jobs would be my attention to detail. I am proud of the work I do here and all that we accomplish in support of warfighters around the globe."
