Daniels graduated from Jonesboro High School in 2013.

The skills and values needed to succeed in the Navy are similar to those found in Griffin.

“Growing up in Georgia, I learned to never give up,” said Daniels.

Daniels joined the Navy 10 years ago. Today, Daniels serves as an aviation boatswain’s mate handler.

“I joined the Navy for travel, and because I have a sense of duty,” said Daniels. “I’ve always had a passion for military service. I was drawn to the structure and discipline. I have some other family history of military service, so in a way I’m carrying on a family tradition.”

Naval Station Everett, one of only two Navy-owned deep-water ports on the West Coast, is home to the command staffs of Carrier Strike Group 11 and Destroyer Group 9, six U.S. Navy ships and one Coast Guard vessel. The base enhances the nation’s ability to accomplish strategic objectives by supporting U.S. Navy and Coast Guard forces, according to Navy officials.

With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.

Daniels serves a Navy that operates far forward, around the world and around the clock, promoting the nation’s prosperity and security.

“We will earn and reinforce the trust and confidence of the American people every day,” said Adm. Lisa Franchetti, chief of naval operations. “Together we will deliver the Navy the nation needs.”

Daniels has many opportunities to achieve accomplishments during military service.

“During a deployment aboard USS Kearsarge in 2016, we had an aircraft catch fire on the flight deck,” said Daniels. “I was on the fire truck that helped put out the fire. My job was to cool the cockpit and intake area. Thankfully, there were no casualties. I was given a letter of commendation for my efforts.”

Daniels can take pride in serving America through military service.

“I’m honored to use my talents and skills to increase Navy readiness,” said Daniels.

Daniels is grateful to others for helping make a Navy career possible.

“I want to thank my mom,” added Daniels. “She gave me the tools I needed to find the right path in life.”
