Aquino graduated from Morse High School in 1995.
Aquino joined the Navy over 17 years ago. Today, Aquino serves as a hospital corpsman.
“I joined the Navy for the opportunity to see the world, for the educational opportunities and retirement benefits,” said Aquino.
The skills and values needed to succeed in the Navy are similar to those found in San Diego.
“I believe that having a diverse group of friends and family helped my transition into the Navy,” said Aquino. “Learning to work with personnel from different backgrounds in my opinion is essential. My father and the majority of my uncles were all Navy, so I was exposed to military life at a young age. Also, growing up in San Diego was a plus.”
In support of the U.S. Navy Surgeon General, NMFP provides command and control of all subordinate Navy Medicine Readiness Training Commands (NMRTCs), Readiness Training Units (NMRTUs) and assigned operational platforms to ensure they are fully trained, properly manned and capably equipped to be forward deployable and ready to execute operational medicine responsibilities in support of warfighter requirements, according to Navy officials.
With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.
Aquino serves a Navy that operates forward, around the world and around the clock, promoting the nation's prosperity and security.
“We will earn and reinforce the trust and confidence of the American people every day,” said Adm. Lisa Franchetti, chief of naval operations. “Together we will deliver the Navy the nation needs.”
Aquino has many opportunities to achieve accomplishments during military service.
“Becoming a chief petty officer is my proudest accomplishment in the Navy,” said Aquino. “It was always my dream/goal to become one. Also, earning both my Enlisted Surface Warfare and Air Warfare designators was a very challenging accomplishment I attained.”
Aquino can take pride in serving America through military service.
“Serving in the Navy provides me a sense of pride in knowing that my actions and decisions have an impact on the sailors I lead and the overall mission,” said Aquino. “ I strive every day to be better than yesterday.”
Aquino is grateful to others for helping make a Navy career possible.
“My father and family for supporting me when I discussed joining the military,” added Aquino. “They were always supportive and there for me when I needed it."
