Tui graduated from Riverview High School in 2019.
Tui joined the Navy two years ago. Today, Tui serves as a personnel specialist.
“I joined the Navy to utilize the VA loan and to travel,” said Tui. “Before the Navy, I was a full-time college student and did real estate in the central and south regions of Florida."
The skills and values needed to succeed in the Navy are similar to those found in Tampa.
“In the Samoan culture when we do our work, whether it is schoolwork, work in general, or chores, we do it wholeheartedly and with a happy heart,” said Tui. “I do my best to apply this aspect to being a personnel specialist knowing stress naturally comes with working in administration. But working with a happy heart and completing the mission whole-heartedly will in the long run make workloads easier.”
In support of the U.S. Navy Surgeon General, NMFP provides command and control of all subordinate Navy Medicine Readiness Training Commands (NMRTCs), Readiness Training Units (NMRTUs) and assigned operational platforms to ensure they are fully trained, properly manned and capably equipped to be forward deployable and ready to execute operational medicine responsibilities in support of warfighter requirements, according to Navy officials.
With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.
Tui serves a Navy that operates forward, around the world and around the clock, promoting the nation's prosperity and security.
“We will earn and reinforce the trust and confidence of the American people every day,” said Adm. Lisa Franchetti, chief of naval operations. “Together we will deliver the Navy the nation needs.”
Tui has many opportunities to achieve accomplishments during military service.
“My proudest accomplishment in the Navy so far, would be making the rank of E-4 with only being in the Navy for nine months,” said Tui.
Tui can take pride in serving America through military service.
“Serving in the Navy is having to put others before yourself,” said Tui. "It is definitely a selfless job. Many don’t understand and cannot comprehend the amount of sacrifice military members go through on a day-to-day basis. I would say it’s a humbling experience and can build character for those who haven’t had much experience in life.”
Tui is grateful to others for helping make a Navy career possible.
“All glory to the Lord for carrying me through this journey in the Navy so far, as my time in hasn’t been easy,” added Tui. “I also want to thank my family for being strong prayer warriors throughout my time in uplifting and supporting me.”
