Petty Officer 3rd Class Ashton Hall, a native of Panama City, Florida, currently serves with Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) Gulfport as a retail services specialist serving with more than 10,000 service members, civilian personnel, veterans and family members associated with the installation.

Whether serving in the construction force or in a supporting role, the sailors of NCBC Gulfport personify the “Can-Do” motto of Seabees and are ready to deploy and serve globally.

Hall graduated from Vernon High School in 2017 and is working toward a bachelor’s degree in computer technology through American Military Institute.

Hall joined the Navy more than six years ago.

“I joined the Navy because it’s a family tradition,” said Hall. “I wanted to continue the lineage. My grandfather, Wesley Quinton Hall, served in the Air Force during Vietnam and my brother, Brandon Hall, is currently serving in the Air Force.”

The skills and values needed to succeed in the Navy are similar to those found in Panama City.

“My grandfather and father were both pastors for over 20 years and they taught me good morals and how to be a good man,” said Hall.

With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.

Hall serves a Navy that operates far forward, around the world and around the clock, promoting the nation’s prosperity and security.

“We will earn and reinforce the trust and confidence of the American people every day,” said Adm. Lisa Franchetti, chief of naval operations. “Together we will deliver the Navy the nation needs.”

Hall has many opportunities to achieve accomplishments during military service.

“My proudest accomplishment is finishing my cross-rating application and obtaining the rate of information systems technician,” said Hall.

Hall can take pride in serving America through military service.

“I wanted to serve in the Navy because I am patriotic, and I wanted to set a good example for our family’s future generation,” said Hall.

Hall is grateful to others for helping make a Navy career possible.

“I would like to thank my father,” said Hall. “Growing up, he helped me succeed in life early and set me up for the future.”
