MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Petty Officer 1st Class Brandon Williamson, a native of Rock Island, Illinois, recently received a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for being named the 2024 Outstanding Recruiter for Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Great Lakes.
Williamson, a 2016 Rock Island High School graduate, joined the Navy seven years ago.
"Receiving the fiscal year 2024 Outstanding Recruiting award is an honor and a testament to the hard work and dedication I've poured into this role," said Williamson. "Transitioning from life on a submarine to becoming a recruiter was one of the most challenging shifts in my Navy career. Recruiting is a completely different environment and throughout my journey, I've learned to connect with individuals in a unique and impactful way. This award reminds me that perseverance and a commitment to helping others find their path in the Navy truly make a difference.
