MILLINGTON, Tenn. – U.S. Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Adam Aldrich, from Angleton, Texas, recently earned a flag letter of commendation for being selected as the Senior Sailor of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2025 in support of the defense of South Korea.
Senior Sailor of the Quarter is an award given to an enlisted sailor in the Navy who is in the pay grade of E-6, or petty officer first class. The award recognizes sailors who demonstrate sustained superior performance, leadership and professionalism.
“Earning the recognition as Senior Sailor of the Quarter brings my family and I great joy,” Aldrich said. “What we do matters, service in the Navy or Marine Corps forges character and builds lifelong relationships; it's something I've personally realized and try to apply every day to teach and mentor where I can, as a sailor, and as a husband and father.”
Aldrich graduated from Angleton High School in 2014.
Aldrich joined the Navy 11 years ago. Today, Aldrich serves as a yeoman at Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Korea (CNFK).
The mission of CNFK is to provide leadership and expertise in naval matters to the Republic of Korea by improving institutional and operational effectiveness between the two navies, strengthening the collective security efforts in Korea and the region.
This year, the Navy is commemorating its contribution to the nation’s defense as the United States celebrates 250 years of independence.
According to Navy officials, for more than 250 years, the Navy has sailed the globe defending freedom and protecting prosperity.
With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.
As Aldrich and other sailors continue to perform missions, they take pride in serving their country in the U.S. Navy and protecting the American way of life.
