MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Seaman Jay Walker, a native of Long Beach, California, serving in the United States Navy wishes the Seattle Seahawks good luck during the 2026 Super Bowl.

“I support the Seahawks because they won against the Patriots,” Walker said. “I don’t like the Patriots.”

Walker joined the Navy one year ago. Today, Walker serves as a logistics specialist with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 11.

This year, the Navy is commemorating its contribution to the nation’s defense as the United States celebrates 250 years of independence.

According to Navy officials, for more than 250 years, the Navy has sailed the globe defending freedom and protecting prosperity.

With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.

As Walker and other sailors continue to train and perform missions, they take pride in serving their country in the U.S. Navy.

“As a sheltered child from the suburbs, joining the Navy means I’ve had a stable job and learned a way of life,” Walker added.
