MILLINGTON, Tenn. — Chief Petty Officer Troy Scott, a native of Melbourne, Florida, serving in the United States Navy wishes the New England Patriots good luck during the 2026 Super Bowl.

“I’ll be rooting for the Patriots because I’m a Tampa Bay Bucs fan, and Tom Brady won us a championship, so technically me and the Patriots are cousins,” Scott said.

Scott, a 2006 Palm Bay High School graduate, joined the Navy 19 years ago. Today, Scott serves as a Navy counselor with Navy Talent Acquisition Group Carolina.

This year, the Navy is commemorating its contribution to the nation’s defense as the United States celebrates 250 years of independence.

According to Navy officials, for more than 250 years, the Navy has sailed the globe defending freedom and protecting prosperity.

With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.

As Scott and other sailors continue to train and perform missions, they take pride in serving their country in the U.S. Navy.
