MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Petty Officer 2nd Class Nathan Dallmann, a native of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, was recently meritoriously promoted to the rank of petty officer second class while serving aboard the U.S. Navy warship, USS Boxer, operating out of San Diego, California.
Today, Dallmann serves as a hull maintenance technician.
Dallmann was meritoriously advanced for their exemplary work and accomplishments as a hull maintenance technician third class petty officer.
"Being meritoriously advanced emphasizes the importance of having a strong work ethic," said Dallmann. "My work ethic has driven me to succeed and become a leader my junior sailors can look up to. This advancement has helped me realize that my superiors genuinely appreciate my talents and efforts. I look forward to guiding those around me to be just as successful."
Boxer is a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship and the sixth U.S. ship to bear the name of the original HMS Boxer, which was captured by the British during the War of 1812.
Amphibious assault ships transfer Marines, equipment and supplies and can support helicopters or other aircraft. Boxer’s crew is made up of approximately 1,200 crewmembers and can accommodate up to 1,800 Marines.
As Dallmann and other sailors continue to train and perform missions, they take pride in serving their country in the U.S. Navy.
