Larsson graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2022.
Larsson joined the Navy two years ago. Today, Larsson serves as a naval air crewman (tactical helicopter).
“I joined the Navy because I wanted to challenge myself, to travel the world, and for the education benefits,” said Larsson. "Being able to fly five thousand feet above the clouds while I serve is also thrilling."
The skills and values needed to succeed in the Navy are similar to those found in Carlsbad.
“Growing up, I had an active and healthy lifestyle that I have found to have benefited me, especially when it came time to pass search and rescue school,” said Larsson.
According to Navy officials, members of HSM-41 Seahawks fly and maintain the MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter, the Navy’s most advanced rotary wing maritime strike platform. The Navy MH-60R is able to perform many different missions. Some of the most common operations include strikes on maritime targets, submarine hunting and attack, electronic warfare, search and rescue, medical evacuations and supply support.
With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.
Larsson serves a Navy that operates far forward, around the world and around the clock, promoting the nation's prosperity and security.

Larsson has many opportunities to achieve accomplishments during military service.
“My proudest accomplishment in the Navy is graduating from aviation rescue swimmer school.,” said Larsson. "The hard training and demanding standards require dedication, resilience, and teamwork. Graduating was a defining moment in my career as it equipped me with the skills and confidence needed to rescue someone."
Larsson can take pride in serving America through military service.
“Serving in the Navy means being a part of something greater than myself,” said Larsson. "Being part of a small community with strong bonds and knowing everyone has similar experiences."
Larsson is grateful to others for helping make a Navy career possible.
“I would like to thank my parents for being so supportive, my teachers, and my counselors for their belief in my potential,” added Larsson.
“I plan on continuing my educational goals towards earning a bachelor's degree,” said Larsson.
