Lunt graduated from Glen A. Wilson High School in 2000.

Lunt joined the Navy 16 years ago. Today, Lunt serves as a gunner's mate.

“My grandfather served in the Army and his brother was in the Navy,” said Lunt. "I admired them, along with other family members, who served in the military."

The skills and values needed to succeed in the Navy are similar to those found in Hacienda Heights.

“I learned the importance of being respectful to others,” said Lunt. "I also learned to do what you're told and what others expect of you."

SWRMC is a field activity of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) that provides superior ship maintenance, modernization, technical support and training for the Pacific Fleet.

According to Navy officials, NAVSEA’s mission is to design, build, deliver and maintain ships, submarines and systems for the U.S. Navy. NAVSEA manages more than 150 acquisition programs and has more than 75,000 civilian and military employees at 33 activities in 16 states and three overseas continents.

With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.

Lunt serves a Navy that operates forward, around the world and around the clock, promoting the nation's prosperity and security.

“We will earn and reinforce the trust and confidence of the American people every day,” said Adm. Lisa Franchetti, chief of naval operations. “Together we will deliver the Navy the nation needs.”

Lunt has many opportunities to achieve accomplishments during military service.

“I’m proud to see my sailors grow and complete the goals they have set for themselves, especially making rank,” said Lunt.

Lunt can take pride in serving America through military service.

“Serving in the Navy gives us the opportunity to protect our country that we love,” said Lunt.

Lunt is grateful to others for helping make a Navy career possible.“I'd like to thank my mom for always encouraging me,” added Lunt. "I'd also like to thank my dad for his support and setting a role model for me. Of course, I want to thank my husband for his support. I’d also like to send a shoutout to my mother-in-law who always sent me messages when were stationed overseas."
