MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Petty Officer 1st Class D'Angelo Lewis, whose family lives in Matteson, Illinois, recently received a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for being named a 2024 Top Recruiter of the Year for Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Great Lakes.

Lewis graduated from King College Prep High School in 2018 and is currently pursuing a degree from Post University. Lewis joined the Navy six years ago.

"Receiving this award means a lot to me because it shows the lives I've impacted," said Lewis. "It's also another way to be positive in the community without going the traditional route and it gives me the ability to give someone a chance at life that they never knew was available."

NTAG Great Lakes leverages an inspirational culture that informs, attracts, influences and hires the highest quality candidates from America's diverse talent pool. This goal ensures the success of America's Navy and establishes the foundation for sailors to thrive in a life-changing experience.

NTAGs are recruiting districts that make up the Navy Recruiting Region. There are 26 NTAGs across the United States, as well as a Navy Recruiting Reserved command and Recruiting School.

NTAG Great Lakes covers the following areas: Northern Illinois, Northwest Indiana, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
