MILLINGTON, Tenn. – Sailors provide the Navy the nation needs from around the world. This means they do not always get to celebrate holidays with their loved ones.
Capt. John Stigi, a native of Rockville, Maryland, currently serving in the United States Navy at Carrier Air Wing Nine (CVW-9), wishes loved ones happy holidays.
"The holidays mean connecting with family and taking time to give thanks together for all of our blessings," Stigi said.
Stigi wants family back home to know they are missed this holiday season.
"I know that being deployed during the holidays is harder on the family than the service member," Stigi added. "It's my time to stand the watch, and I'm grateful to be deployed with such a fantastic team. We'll make you proud, and I hope you all sleep soundly knowing that we're out here defending the freedoms we enjoy back home."
