MILLINGTON, Tenn. – Sailors provide the Navy the nation needs from around the world. This means they do not always get to celebrate holidays with their loved ones.
Senior Chief Petty Officer Ian Herzing, a native of Saint Marys, Pennsylvania, currently serving in the United States Navy aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt, wishes loved ones happy holidays.
Herzing wants family back home to know they are missed this holiday season.
"To me, the holidays mean spending time with family down at Swiss Mount, watching the wildlife walk through, lighting the stove in camp and watching smoke come out of the chimney," Herzing said.
