PANAMA CITY,
Fla. – A 2010 graduate of William Henry Harrison High School and West
Lafayette, Indiana native has been selected as Junior Sailor of the Quarter,
Third Quarter, Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama
City Division (NSWC PCD) from April 2017 to June 2017.
According to NSWC PCD Commanding Officer Capt. Aaron Peters, U.S.
Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Chad W. Fuller, a naval aircrewman
(helicopter), was selected while serving as MH-60S Crew Chief and
Operations Representative.
“Fuller performed in-flight duties that enabled the safe execution
of 28.6 Development, Test, and Evaluation, Search and Rescue operations, and
the initial qualification of 32 rescue swimmers from the Naval Air Station
Pensacola, Naval Rescue Swimmer School while serving at NSWC PCD,” said Peters.
Following graduation, Fuller promptly signed up to join the U.S.
Navy on July 7, 2010.
“Because of my fascination with learning about other cultures, I
wanted to travel the world,” said Fuller. “It’s an honor to receive this
commendation, especially because it recognizes my ability to balance my daily
job, my family obligations as well as fulfilling volunteer activities in the
local community.”
Peters congratulated Fuller for his ability to multitask with
highly challenging mission objectives.
“Fuller became one of only two Aircrewman to be fully qualified in
both the Airborne Mine Neutralization System and Airborne Laser Mine Detection
System allowing NSWC PCD to be a stand-alone testing unit,” said Peters. “In
addition, as the healthcare provider and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Program
Manager, he organized four classes to facilitate the continued qualification
and recertification of NSWC PCD Aviation Unit Aircrewmen and Maintenance
Personnel. Fuller’s exceptional professionalism, initiative and devotion are a
testament that credits himself and the United States Navy.”
