NAVAL SUPPORT FACILITY DEVESELU, Romania (Nov. 21, 2017) A 2001 Madison Consolidated High School graduate and Madison, Indiana, native recently reenlisted for four additional years in the U.S. Navy while serving at Naval Support Facility (NSF) Deveselu, Romania.
Chief Petty Officer Master-at-Arms Aaron J.
Moore, son of James (Jim) A. and Vicki Moore, was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for serving as leading chief petty officer of the security
department as well as serving as the command fitness leader. Moore, who has
served for over 16-years, also received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation
Medal as an end-of-tour award.
“After a year here in Romania, the best
memory I have would be the privilege of leading these 78 Sailors in daily
security operations to protect our nation’s first ballistic missile defense
site in Europe,” said Moore. “Having the opportunity to impact these Sailor’s
lives and careers is a memory will carry forever.”
After graduating from Madison Consolidated
High School, Moore joined the military in 2001 with
ambitions to see the world, experience different cultures, and learn on-the-job
experience while serving his country. He has also earned a Bachelor of Science
in exercise science from the American Military University. Moore attributes his
success and hard working attitude to his family, notable his parents.
“When I look back on my career there are
multiple mentors who have helped guide and mold me into the Sailor and leader I
am today,” said Moore. “My work ethic and drive was instilled in me at an early
age by my mom and dad andI don’t know where I would be without them; I’m truly
blessed to have them.”
Moore will continue his Naval service
reporting to the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) in
Sasebo, Japan. He hopes to continue to serve for years to come gaining more
knowledge, leadership skills and influencing Sailors while experiencing the
world with his family, and his ‘Navy family’.
