Commendation Medal from Capt. Jon Grant, commanding
officer of Naval Support Facility (NSF) Deveselu, Romania.
Chief Petty Officer Master-at-Arms Aaron J. Moore, son of James (Jim) A. and Vicki Moore, was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for serving as leading chief petty officer of the security department as well as serving as the command fitness leader. Moore, who has served for over 16-years, also received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal as an end-of-tour award.
“After a year here in Romania, the best memory I have would be the privilege of leading these 78 Sailors in daily security operations to protect our nation’s first ballistic missile defense site in Europe,” said Moore. “Having the opportunity to impact these Sailor’s lives and careers is a memory will carry forever.”
After graduating from Madison Consolidated High School, Moore joined the military in 2001 with ambitions to see the world, experience different cultures, and learn on-the-job experience while serving his country. He has also earned a Bachelor of Science in exercise science from the American Military University. Moore attributes his success and hard working attitude to his family, notable his parents.
“When I look back on my career there are multiple mentors who have helped guide and mold me into the Sailor and leader I am today,” said Moore. “My work ethic and drive was instilled in me at an early age by my mom and dad andI don’t know where I would be without them; I’m truly blessed to have them.”
Moore will continue his Naval service reporting to the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) in Sasebo, Japan. He hopes to continue to serve for years to come gaining more knowledge, leadership skills and influencing Sailors while experiencing the world with his family, and his ‘Navy family’.
