MILLINGTON, Tenn. – Petty Officer 2nd Class Paul Loper, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, serving in the United States Navy wishes the Seattle Seahawks good luck during the 2026 Super Bowl.
“I support the Seahawks because I’m tired of the Patriots,” Loper said.
Loper, a 2011 De Soto High School graduate, joined the Navy six years ago. Today, Loper serves as a logistics specialist with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 11.
This year, the Navy is commemorating its contribution to the nation’s defense as the United States celebrates 250 years of independence.
According to Navy officials, for more than 250 years, the Navy has sailed the globe defending freedom and protecting prosperity.
With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.
As Loper and other sailors continue to train and perform missions, they take pride in serving their country in the U.S. Navy.
“Serving in the Navy has completely changed my life,” Loper added. “It has opened me up to so many experiences I would not otherwise have. I am grateful to be a Navy sailor and to give back to my country.”
