MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Seaman Jamar Horton, a native of Okolona, Arkansas, serving in the United States Navy wishes the New England Patriots good luck during the 2026 Super Bowl.

“I like the way the Patriots play,” Horton said. “Also, they wear red, white, and blue.”

Horton, a 2004 Delight High School graduate, joined the Navy one year ago. Today, Horton serves as a logistics specialist with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 11.

This year, the Navy is commemorating its contribution to the nation’s defense as the United States celebrates 250 years of independence.

According to Navy officials, for more than 250 years, the Navy has sailed the globe defending freedom and protecting prosperity.

With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people from across the rich fabric of America.

As Horton and other sailors continue to train and perform missions, they take pride in serving their country in the U.S. Navy.

“I am proud that I serve my country,” Horton added. “The Navy has changed my life in so many ways that I am thankful. Every day I get teary-eyed thinking about it.”
